Just a short scenic sea-plane ride from Male Airport in the beautiful Indian Ocean lies Landaa Giraavaru and the Four Seasons Resort - the ultimate paradise, offering five star luxury accommodation in 102 thatched beach and water villas with private plunge pools and spacious outdoor living areas.
The Resort offers a choice of three wonderful restaurants - Blu is at the western end of the island overlooking the lagoon serving a la carte breakfast, light antipasti, pizza and pasta at lunch and fine Italian cuisine in the evening. Built over-water, off the main jetty is the Al Barakat serving authentic Arabian cuisine with specialities like Lebanese mezze, North African dishes and Arabian coffee. While the Cafe Landaa overlooks the swimming pool and beach and comprises three thatched-roof pavilions -separated by ponds - serving breakfast, lunch and dinner for a fusion of east meets west.
There are plenty of activities on offer, the Resort operates it's own dive centre with a team of multilingual dive instructors offering courses for beginners and advanced divers. The watersports centre has complimentary snorkels, masks, fins and equipment for non-motorised water sports - sailboats, catamarrans and windsurfing equipment. Motorised water sports equipment is available for rental. Or try a spot of sunset fishing - a chef will even prepare your catch!
The Spa and Ayurvedic Retreat is a resort in itself, providing secluded open-air treatments and yoga in this lush tropical haven - perfect for pampering and total relaxation.
Children are more than welcome at Landaa Giraavaru providing a wonderful home-base for both young families and teenagers, with children under 12 saying free in their parents' room. Babysitting services are available for an hourly fee, and for teenage guests the Majaa Maizan young adults centre is great place for 13 to 18 year olds to play pool, table tennis, table football, access the internet or watch a movie on the plasma screen TV.
