The sister hotel to Soneva Fushi, with a similar no news no shoes approach to barefoot luxury, the main difference being that at Soneva Gili all the accommodation is in large, beautifully crafted suites built on stilts over the lagoon. Some of these guest suites are accessed via a jetty, others by boat, affording maximum privacy.
The emphasis here is on understated barefoot luxury, not only in the quality of the accommodation, dining and leisure pursuits, but also in the finishing touches, such as the huge scented candles in earthenware pots. The accommodation is accessed via three jetties. Each spacious suite is constructed of natural materials including timber and thatch. The large open air living area, with the shallow crystal clear water all around is simply amazing!
The restaurant, swimming pool and tennis courts are all located on the main island, whilst the bar and six senses spa are also set over the water, providing a unique, relaxing setting. There is an excellent range of watersports and a PADI accredited dive centre.
Soneva Gili is a supremely luxurious, unique and romantic hotel and is highly recommended.
